Back then: camouflage uniforms, mud up to the knees, and commands like “Take cover!” or “Move, move, move!” Today: a luxurious ballroom, chandeliers, piano music – and his men? Dressed in tailored suits, shiny shoes, and perfectly styled hair. A sight straight out of a fashion magazine.

The unit stood in perfect formation, just like the old days – only now it smelled of aftershave and expensive cologne instead of sweat and field rations. The General entered, not in uniform, but in a navy-blue three-piece suit with a pocket square. A brief moment of silence. Then:

“Men!” he bellowed. “You look like the executive board of Gucci!”

https://fundus.idling.xyz/r1/warriors.mp4

Warriors clip (open in a new window)

The troops laughed but remained at attention. The General walked down the line, and instead of stern looks, there were hugs, pats on the back, and enthusiastic high-fives for each soldier. When he reached Sergeant Schröder, he paused, looked him over, and said, “You’ve got more hair gel now than ammo back then!”

Schröder grinned. “And you’ve got more belly than your old backpack!”

The General laughed so loudly that the waiter with the champagne tray flinched.

Then came Captain Becker, once known for his tactical precision. Today he wore a golden watch so large it could be used for Morse code. The General clapped him on the shoulder: “Becker, you look like an investment banker with a camouflage past.”

Becker winked. “I invest in peace and good food now.”

At the end of the line stood Lieutenant Klein, who used to be late for everything. Today, he’d been the first to arrive. The General nodded approvingly: “Klein, you’ve changed.”

Klein replied, “I’ve got a wife now. She’s tougher than you.”

The troops roared with laughter.

Finally, the General stood before the group, raised his glass, and said, “Ten years, many stories, and now you’re gentlemen with collars instead of collar sizes. But one thing remains: you’re my unit. Whether in the mud or in a tux.”

Everyone shouted, “Yes, General!”

And then they danced. With rhythm. And a little marching music in their hearts.

Rotten Content

Content – not rotten!

[4
7,6,5
post-11","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-rottenhistory","tag-dynasty","tag-warriors","tag-worriors
["GET
